Who doesn’t love a chocolate, peanut butter and banana combo? Kids and adults alike love it. It’s what breakfasts (and lunches and snacks) are all about! And this delicious smoothie could not be quicker to make, grab and run out the door with on any busy morning. It’s packed with protein, too.
The recipe is from Ciara at MyFussyEater (with one or two additions) and you’ll find the details at the end as always. With a fussy eater to get out to school in the morning, Ciara knows what she is talking about. She says …
It’s packed full of energy with the oats and banana giving kids a natural energy boost, yet low GI too, giving sustained release throughout the morning. Milk is of course an excellent source of protein [as are oats and peanut butter] and the cocoa provides natural antioxidants and nutrients. Just make sure it’s 100% cocoa and not the sugar-loaded hot [drinking] chocolate kind.
