I am not addicted to coffee! I may not feel awake until I’ve had one; I may like one (or two!) first thing in the morning and drink several during the day … but I am NOT addicted! Right? Right! LOL! (My coffee is so weak most folks look at it and think ‘milk’ or, more likely, “Yuck!” But I love it!)
Anyway, I found this delcious smoothie from Nick at Macheesmo. He suggests using good quality, strong coffee (but then ‘dilutes’ it with lots of tasty ingredients.) He says …
The coffee is a tricky addition. Overdo it and your smoothie will be bitter, but if you get it right, it blends perfectly with the coconut and other ingredients.
It’s seriously breakfast in a glass. Like, your entire breakfast: granola, fruit, coffee. Delicious.

Recipe: Breakfast-in-a-Glass Coffee Coconut Smoothie
Serves 2; approx 300 cals each
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup strong Coffee, frozen
- 1 Banana
- 1 cup Coconut Water
- 1/2 cup Granola
- 4 tablespoons ground Flax seeds
- 2 tablespoons Chia seeds
Blend until smooth and enjoy.
