This delectable peach and mango smoothie shows summer fruit at its best – and it’s only 184 calories per cup. Sweet, rich, juicy … scrumptious!

If you are concerned about a sugar spike from all this lovely fruit, then add some soluble fiber like oats and a few nuts or seeds to balance out blood sugar levels and prevent a sugar spike from the fruit and honey. The extra fiber will also make it more filling so you won’t feel like snacking. Remember though, this will increase the calories.

The recipe is from Katie Morford, MS, RD, at MomsKitchenHandbook, who suggests using frozen fruit, but if the fruit is in season then slice and freeze it the evening before you want to make the smoothie for the added chill we love in our smoothies. Katie says …

Using frozen fruit instead of fresh doesn’t skimp on nutrients and makes for an especially cold and frothy blend. The smoothie works well poured into pop molds and frozen for several hours as well.
