
Everyone around me seems to have or is just getting over flu. I plan to do everything I can to keep it well away.
So I’m topping up my immune system with lots of Vitamin C in this smoothie, plus the anti-bacterial qualities found in the ginger, some cinnamon for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, and I’m going to throw in a little honey, too. You can’t have too much of a good thing, or so they say.

… you want to keep it healthy and balanced. You can do this by regularly adding ginger to your diet.
Recipe: Flu Season Immune-Boosting Smoothie
Ingredients: (serves 2; cals 300; fiber 6 g)
2 medium Oranges, peeled
1 half-inch knob of fresh Ginger, peeled
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 of an Avocado
3 cups of Romaine Lettuce, washed
1 cup nonfat Yogurt
1 teaspoon Honey
1 handful of Ice cubes
