You’ve no doubt heard the saying that you shouldn’t drink your calories. But done right, smoothies can be your secret weight-loss weapon. Here, you’ll find eight perfect blends if you’re trying to slim down.
Sip on these genius drinks for a snack or a small breakfast to get your fill of vitamins and nutrients that’ll keep your body in fat-burning shape.
Recipe #4. Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

This sweet fall-flavored drink contains fiber-packed pumpkin to help to keep you full and curb snacking. (Did you know you can find canned pumpkin any time of year?)
The cinnamon in this drink has been linked to controlling blood sugar, which keeps you from craving refined carbs and sugar.
And though the combination of cinnamon and vanilla extract makes this smoothie taste like it’s full of calories and sugar, it’s completely skinny jeans-friendly!
Ingredients
1/2 cup Ice
1 cup Almond Milk
1/2 cup Pumpkin puree
1/8 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Nutmeg
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Recipe #5. Coconut Berry Smoothie

This pretty purple drink contains coconut, which has a certain type of saturated fat that actually helps you burn fat.
At the same time, the high-fiber berries in it satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you full.
And by subbing in coconut water for milk or soymilk, you slash major calories. In fact, this smoothie has less than 250!
Ingredients
1/4 cup Blueberries, frozen
1/4 cup Raspberries, frozen
1 cup Coconut Water
1/3 cup unsweetened shredded Coconut
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Recipe #6. Green Smoothie

This super hydrating, low-cal smoothie contains loads of nutrient-rich veggies and mono-unsaturated fatty acids from avocado, which have been shown to help burn belly fat.
The hint of cayenne pepper gives this drink a little kick and makes you feel fuller longer while amping up your metabolism.
In other words, this one should be your new weight loss go-to!
Ingredients
1/2 cup Ice
3/4 cup Coconut Water
(1/4 cup Chlorophyll water) * see note below
1/2 Avocado
1 cup Spinach
1/4 Cucumber
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Nothing can replace a healthy diet.
* There are more natural ways to boost your chlorophyll intake, such as eating spinach, kale, green beans, and peas. Many scientists say that it's better for your body to just eat a bag of spinach instead of spending $40 on a bottle of liquid chlorophyll.
Recipe #7. Strawberry Beet Smoothie

This pink smoothie contains the dairy substitute that’s been missing from your life: rice milk.
The low-cal liquid has a mildly sweet flavor and is the perfect complement to strawberries and beets. Speaking of which, some of the compounds in beets have been linked to increased athletic performance—making this an ideal pre-workout drink.
Ingredients
1/2 cup Ice
1 cup rice Milk*
1 medium sized Beet, steamed
1 cup Strawberries, hulled
* Note: While alternative milks are popular, they lack a lot of satiating (from the Latin meaning "fill, full, satisfy") nutrients compared to dairy milk. So providing you have no dairy allergies you will do well to go down the dairy track. One half cup of full fat milk is 70 cals compared to 65 for equivalent amount of rice milk.
