I included the chai-spice part in the title to help the uninitiated (like me!) to understand that chai refers to a group of spices used to flavor the spicy and fragrant milky tea drunk across most of India and much of east Africa – and the rest of the world now thanks to modern coffeehouses. I’m not a tea-drinker so have never ventured to order one. Having now learned that it refers to spices, I’m not averse to trying it in anything – anything but tea that is, lol!
The recipe is from Davida at TheHealthyMaven and you’ll find the details at the end of the post. She was not a smoothie-lover until her conversion and here’s how she explains it …
I’m convinced that inside every person there is a smoothie-lover. As a former smoothie-hater I can speak for those of us who have seen the light and can assure those who haven’t that there is another way!
Not in a million years did I think I would become a smoothie person. A warm bowl of oats always sounded more appetizing to me then a cold drink on a dreary winter morning. But today I want to tell you about how I changed my tune and in the process fell in love with my daily morning smoothie.
In her post, Davida gives some tips on how to convert.
Showing my ignorance again today … I had to look up ‘maven’ in an online dictionary to discover it means ‘an expert or a connoissseur’. Hopefully this tasty smoothie recipe will make up for my ignorance, lol!
