I’m looking for a blender that will handle seeds and tough greens well so I don’t get surprised by unpleasant chunks in my smoothies (“lumpies”!).
I’ve been making-do with a small blender that makes drinkable smoothies but, even although I can drink them, they cannot really be called ‘smoothies’ and cannot be consumed with a straw. That said, they do have a very satisfying mouth-feel…
Anyway, I’m ready to move up a step. However, I’m not prepared to spend $450 on a Vitamix, even with its 7-year warranty and even although it wins hands down in all the tests – at least, not yet.
This report from America’s Test Kitchen helped me find one for less than half the price – and then it was on offer, so even less. Yay!
Here’s what America’s Test Kitchen had to say …
… we’ve made more than 400 smoothies in a single copy of the blender, choosing a motor-challenging combination of juice, chunks of frozen fruit, and raw kale … [and it] is still going strong …
On the Next Page you’ll see the video review of the blender testing …

Click through 5 pages and you Might find the answer……this site sucks.
Hi Kim McDaniel, I’m wide open to take on board valid complaints, but you seem to have missed crystal clear answer in the video page 2?
I’d appreciate if you did not make comments which mislead other readers.
If you’d like to clarify why you find it so difficult to make a simple click on to the next piece of informative content, I’m listening…
Best regards, Ruth B
