Oh, boy! This has to be one of my favorite smoothies! Especially when I put an espresso in it, too. But even without the coffee it tastes soooooo good! I keep saying that, don’t I? I have so many favorites, it’s true, lol! I just love smoothies!
This recipe is based on one from Jaclyn at CookingClassy. It’s more or less as she gives it, except I wanted to reduce the calories a little so I reduced the peanut butter. We have other recipes with more PB, but we wanted to keep this one within a range to help us lose weight.
However, you can keep it there if you wish, just be aware you might have to compensate somewhere else if you want to keep on track with your healthy eating, weight-reducing program.
I’ve also given a meal-replacement option as this is my usual way to have a smoothie. I would use this for lunch and have a green smoothie for breakfast.
Jaclyn says …
How could this not be good though? It has three of the best flavors, banana, peanut butter and chocolate all together in one decadent morning treat. [My comment: Or in our case, healthy treat ;o) ]
Note that the sweetness of this smoothie comes from the ripeness of the bananas so be sure to use some that are well ripened. If you still would like it a little bit sweeter you could add in a little honey or cut back a touch on the cocoa powder.
