Raspberries and chocolate in any form is a classic combination.

Annie at AnUnrefinedVegan was reviewing a new cookery book she had and chose a chocolate and raspberry smoothie recipe to include in her post – it’s a real treat. For the original recipe, which is rich, delicious, and would make a wonderful dessert smoothie, see Annie’s website.

However, we love meal-replacement smoothies and wanted something filling but a little less rich. So we reduced the number of dates, bumped up the protein and soluble fiber with some oats, used coconut cream instead of pure coconut oil for the healthy fat, and used water instead of milk. It comes out a little darker, so you may prefer to adjust the cocoa content to your liking.
