Flavors, flavors everywhere … which one will I try? I think I’ll try a sweet juicy Peach this time. Drat, it’s the wrong time of year. Peaches are a summer fruit and not around long enough in my estimation. However you can substitute fruit canned in its own juice or water, at this time of year.
Leslie Fink from Weightwatchers says ..
Vitamin C is heat sensitive and can be destroyed in the canning process, so fresh fruit is often a much better source. But heat doesn’t bother other good-for-you vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, B vitamins and potassium.
Just remember next summer to purchase extra peaches and freeze, then you’ll have plenty for our peachy smoothie recipe whenever you fancy one.
