Warning! You need to plan a little ahead for this smoothie as it uses milk ice cubes; see the note with the recipe at the end of the post – but it’s worth it, folks!
This delicious cookie dough smoothie recipe is from Liz at SproutedRoutes. I had to laugh as she talked about there being two types of people in the world: those who love cookies and those who don’t wait for them to cook and simple eat the cookie dough :o) I know which I am, lol! (Take a look at her site as she has many wonderful recipes … I’m sitting here drooling, lol!)
Talking of her cookie dough smoothie recipe, Liz says …
… the flavor is all decadence. It’s rich, buttery, filled with vanilla smoothness and bursting with bites of chocolate. Beyond freezing a bit of nondairy milk in ice cube trays the night before, the whole thing also comes together in about two minutes flat.

Recipe: The Healthy-Option Cookie Dough Smoothie
Serves 2 – share if you can, but I won’t blame you if you do not tell anyone else in the house about it!
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup non-dairy Milk* of choice, made into Ice Cubes ahead of time
- 3/4 cup non-dairy Milk* of choice
- 2 tbsp Almond Butter
- 1/8 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla Powder (can sub 2 tsp vanilla extract)
- 4 tbsp Maple Syrup
- 6 tbsp raw Cacao Nibs (these can be found online, at most Whole Foods and other natural grocery stories, but you can sub dark chocolate chips or shavings if desired)
* I prefer homemade coconut cashew but store bought canned coconut milk would be my second choice – the thicker your milk, the thicker and creamier your milkshake will be.
Blend and enjoy.
