Yes, we’ve published several pumpkin green smoothies previously, but this has to be a favorite among favorites! Its got the flavor of the season, can be easily adapted to convince you its a pumpkin pie, and is sure to be popular with all the family!
This is a meal-replacement smoothie. So don’t take it as a snack. And don’t rush it! Savour it slowly over half an hour or more…
Here’s some expert advice from the author Tracy Russell (IncredibileSmoothie.com)…
If you are a dedicated raw foodist, you can blend fresh raw pumpkin that was soaked in water with a squeeze of lemon over night. Canned pumpkin puree has the most flavor, though, and it saves a ton of time.
However, you can easily make your own pumpkin puree. I added hazelnuts to suggest a bit of a “pie” flavor (that’s the secret to a pie smoothie!).
You’ll also find in this smoothie a rich source of the following vitamins:
- B1 through B6
- vitamin K
- copper
- magnesium
- manganese
- phosphorus
- potassium, and
- zinc

Recipe: Tracy’s Pumpkin Spice Green Smoothie
Ingredients: (1 large serving – 24 oz)
- 8 ounces of almond milk (make your own)
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 banana, peeled
- 10 raw hazelnuts (or cashews)
- 1 scoop protein powder (I use NutriBiotic vegan rice protein)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Dash of nutmeg
- 2 handfuls of fresh baby spinach
Preparation:
- Add the liquid & the soft fruit to your blender.
- Add the greens to your blender.
- Blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.
Tips:
- For a low-fat alternative, use 1/2 peach.
- I like using cooked & cooled pumpkin. However you could just take a shortcut and use organic pumpkin puree (check there are no additives).
- Too much for you? You can store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
