Recipe: Reduce Belly Fat Series: Chocolate Banana Cherry Smoothie
Serves 1; approx 230-270 cals (see below)
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen Banana
- 4 fresh Cherries, pitted
- 1-2 T Cacao powder*
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- ½ cup unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 scoop vanilla plant-based protein powder*, optional
- 2 Ice cubes
Enjoy it with a cherry on the top!
* Substitute cocoa powder or 2 squares dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids), grated, adjusting the calorie count, if that matters to you.
** Substitutes for protein powder include 1/2 cup yogurt, or 1 cup milk kefir, or 2 tbs hemp seeds, or 1/2 cup cottage cheese, or 2 tbs chia seed, to name a few. Each of these is worth between 70 and 100 calories.
Blend until smooth and enjoy.
