I seem to be being constantly reminded everywhere I look these days to eat a varied diet, including different colors of fruits and veggies to maximize the nutrients my body requires. Some nutrients are common to many, but others are specific to a particular color or variety. So I’m glad I came across this series of Susan’s rainbow of smoothies today. Today we have the fourth recipe. (You’ll find it at the end of the post.)
Susan from SimpleHealthyKitchen says of this smoothie recipe …
This “RED” smoothie is basically my favorite red juice recipe in smoothie format. The combo of apple “a” with beets “b” and carrots “c” (hence the name “abc” smoothie) is fabulous. And fabulously good for you. Chock full of nutrients, antioxidants and fiber. It’s good for your skin, liver, heart and so much more. I would suggest adding a few cubes of ice to this one, it’s exceptionally good when it’s really cold!
