We’re often saying how good fermented or probiotic foods are for us; they support the digestive system by replenishing the healthy bacteria our guts use to help breakdown the foods we eat. One of the main probiotic foods we use in smoothies is yogurt, but there are others suitable, too, like kefir and cottage cheese. These all give a good amount of protein which helps us feel fuller.

Recipe: Probiotic Coconut Raspberry Peppermint Smoothie
Serves 1
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Kefir or Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Coconut Milk or Almond Milk
- 1/2 cup Raspberries
- 1/8 tsp Peppermint Extract
- 1 tsp liquid stevia or sweetener of choice, if required
Optional:
- 1 tbsp Coconut Flakes
- 1 tbsp Hemp Hearts or chopped Nuts of choice
Blend until smooth, adding the hemp seeds or chopped nuts, if desired. Top with coconut flakes. Enjoy.
