I just discovered this cool website by Mari (blueberrysmoothies.net) through her Instagram page. I must say, all of the photos look fabulous, and of course, the healthy recipes are tantalisingly tasty too!
She doesn’t give much detail on nutrition or how these work in your body, but it’ll really get your creative juices flowing to see her works of smoothie-art!
Should help you well to come up with some great new ideas for your own smoothie recipes.

Recipe: Mari’s Blueberry & Green Smoothie
Ingredients (Serves 2 – 0.4l)
- 200ml oats, soaked buckwheat seeds, or mixed seeds and nuts
Purple layer:
- 1/2 Cup of oats, buckwheat, amaranth or mixed seeds and nuts
- 1/2 – 1 Cup blueberries
- plant based milk (almond, coconut, etc)
- fruit like banana or apple to sweeten, or dried fruits, agave syrup, coconut sugar etc. to taste
Additional: your favourite superfoods, 1 tsp cold pressed coconut oil
Green layer:
- 1 Tblsp of oats, smoked buckwheat seeds or mixed seeds and nuts
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 tsp Hawaiian spirulina
- plant based milk (almond, coconut, etc)
Additional: superfoods, fruits and berries
Mari’s Tips:
- Blend the smoothies together, layer by using a spoon under when pouring the second layer.
- Leave the smoothies bit thick, so the layers don’t mix so easily.
- If you want to, decorate your jars with fruits, just cut thin slices of the fruits and attach them on the glass before pouring the smoothies in.
