Low calorie summer deliciousness in a glass! Just what the doctor ordered, lol! This fruit smoothie is rich in Vitamin C. And if you like to make a meal of your smoothies then simply add some oats for extra protein and a few nuts or seeds for some healthy fat. This will also help prevent a sugar spike and is a good habit for diabetic smoothies.  (This will, of course, increase the calories!)

The recipe is from Jacqueline Meldrum at TinnedTomatoes, a Scottish blogger. Jacqueline and her family love smoothies. She says she loves to add extra nutrients to her smoothies and has used baobab powder in this one …

In case you haven’t heard of baobab powder before, it’s a hard fruit from an African tree, which is made into a powder. It’s high in Calcium, Potassium, Fibre and Vitamin C.

This is a great smoothie for 5:2 Diet fast days, as it comes in at only 115 calories per glass and each glass contains 80% of your recommended Vitamin C.
