The recipe comes from Ivy Larsen at CleanCuisineAndMore and you’ll find the details over the page. Ivy says …
One of the best ways to rid your body of toxic overload is to consume an array of superfoods that help support natural elimination. Turmeric happens to be one of the very best superfoods for detox as it not only enhances liver function, it has even been shown to regenerate and heal a damaged liver. Having a healthy and well-functioning liver is critically important because the more problems you have with this organ, the harder it is for your body to process and eliminate toxins of any kind. In addition to detoxification, turmeric also plays a critical role in reducing inflammation.

Recipe: Low Calorie Orange Smoothie Makes Cool Popsicles
Serves 2; 170 cals each
Ingredients:
- 1 large Carrot, peel, chop, steam 4 mins, cool
- 2 Oranges, peel and white pith removed
- Juice from 1 whole Lime
- 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
- ½ to 1 teaspoon Turmeric (Note: If you are not used to eating turmeric, start with ½ teaspoon)
- 1 frozen Banana, chopped into small pieces
- 3 tablespoons Hemp seeds
- ½ cup cold Water (OR ½ cup Dandelion Tea, chilled)
- Pinch of unrefined Sea Salt
- Pinch of Cayenne pepper
Blend until smooth. Then you just have to decide if you want it as a smoothie or to make popsicles with it … or both!
To make into popsicles, pour into a popsicle mold and freeze.
How do I work out the calories in the popsicles?
As popsicle makers are different sizes, the number of calories per popsicle will vary according to the number of popsicles you make. Simply divide the full recipe (340 cals) by the number of popsicles you make. For example, if the recipe makes:
- 4 popsicles then each will be 85 cal; if it makes
- 6 popsicles then it’s 57 cals each; and if it makes
- 8 popsicles then it’s 43 cals each, and so on.
