With summer in full swing we are all looking for cool, light and refreshing drinks. This low calorie, sparkling and flavorful fruit smoothie from Lindsay Cotter is just the ticket! A tall drink to enjoy on the terrace or by the pool, it ticks all the boxes. And is healthy to boot.
Lindsay Cotter is a Sport Dietician specializing in Sport Nutrition and Gluten Free diets; she writes at CotterCrunch. Lindsay confesses to not liking watermelon. She loves the flavor, yes, but not the fruit itself …
But when you freeze watermelon, then make it the “ice” of a smoothie, it’s pretty fantastic. In fact, it acts a natural sweetener and packs this frozen fruit smoothie with even more hydration! Watermelon is 92% water. That’s crazy awesome! And ... um, did I mention it’s 100F out? We need all the hydration we can get. I sweat going to the car or taking out the trash. Not lying.
