This smoothie recipe sounded a little bit different … a mix of summer and fall flavors, and I thought you might be interested in it. The recipe is from Jessica Knott at SwankyRecipes. Find the details at the end of the post.

Fall means pumpkins are in season and plentiful, although and you will have to use frozen strawberries. Perhaps you froze the harvest from your garden or bought them when a glut reduced the price and froze them. These are both great things to do with any harvest or in season fruits and veggies. Take advantage of great prices.

Keeping with the spirit of the season Jessica says …

… adding pumpkin puree is very healthy and rewarding. Everyone raves of Pumpkin Lattes and Frappucinos this time of year and If you like them as much as I do, the calories of lattes and fraps everyday can add up! Now you can enjoy the same great pumpkin taste with a lot less calories and fat! [This smoothie] is packed with vitamins, protein and all those healthy things that give you real energy.
