It’s Fall, so it must be time for caramel apples smoothies! I’ve just found this one by Amanda at RunningWithSpoons and, oh my goodness, has it sent me on a trip down memory lane!
Fall, October, and the run up to Trick or Treat or Hallowe’en … and for many years the lady who lived opposite our junior/grade school gates would make candy apples and sell them to the school pupils. Mmm, they were so good!
Anyway, back to smoothies and Amanda, who was reminiscing a bit, too, says …
This ridiculously creamy and comforting smoothie that instantly fills your mind with images of chunky knit sweaters, soft brown boots, and warm sunlight streaming through golden leaves … It’s good stuff.
And – yes – that was the lamest excuse for a recipe description ever, but my mind kind of got lost in a fall-induced happy place and that’s the best it could come up with. Sorry.
Let’s try again … This smoothie … is basically a blended up bowl of oatmeal. And I realize that might sound a little strange if you’ve never tried putting oats in your smoothies before, but you need to give it a shot because it will change.your.LIFE. I promise.
Say goodbye to thin, runny smoothies that leave you feeling unsatisfied and hungry again in half an hour, and say hello to the creamiest, doughiest, and most satisfying smoothies ever …
