We tend to think of the pineapple coconut combo as a tropical summer drink. However, pineapple is full of bromelain which is good for thinning mucous, so it is great to help clear a summer cold – or a fall cold, or an anytime cold, for that matter.
And coconut anything is brilliant! We have run clear of it for decades, being told it is too high in fat, but those fats have now been discovered to be good for us. Do remember, though, all things in moderation; they are fats.

It’s thick, creamy, rich, and so delicious.
This smoothie isn’t very sweet so if you like something sweeter I suggest you add one more tablespoon of maple syrup (or coconut sugar).

Recipe: Ironman’s Pineapple Coconut Smoothie
Serves 1
245 cals per serving
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Pineapple chunks (fresh or frozen)
- ¼ cup plain Yogurt
- ½ cup full-fat Coconut Milk
- 2 teaspoons shredded Coconut unsweetened
- 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup (optional)
- Handful Ice
Set 1 teaspoon shredded coconut aside for the topping and add all other ingredients to the blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into glass and top with remaining teaspoon of shredded coconut. Enjoy.
