Groan! Sorry for the awful title but I just couldn’t help myself, lol! Otherwise known as a green monster smoothie for kids.
Smoothies are great for after school snacks. The kids always come in ravenous and want something straight away. If yours are old enough to make their own way home from school then you can have one ready for them the moment the door opens. However, if you have to do the school run you can have all the ingredients ready just to grab from the freezer and blitz when you get home.
A handy tip from Ziploc …
A great tip is to make smoothie packs in Ziploc® bags and keep them in the freezer. Simply portion out the fruits and vegetables and freeze, then add the liquids when blending. So quick and easy!

Recipe: Here’s Looking at You Kid!
Serves 1-3 depending on age and appetite
Ingredients:
- 1 Pear, ripe
- 1 Banana, frozen
- 1 packed cup baby Spinach
- ½ cup natural Yogurt
- ½ cup Apple Juice
- ¼ cup Water or Milk, adjust to desired thickness
- ¼ Banana and 2 dried Blueberries or Raisins for eyes
If a little extra enticement is required then drizzle a little Maple Syrup over the top.
Blend until smooth.
To Make the ‘Eyes’
Use a melon baller to get eyes with either melon or banana.
Cut a little hole in each to place the blueberries, or raisins.
Place the ‘eyes’ on a stick and position in the glass.
Or cut two chunks of fruit for the eyes, for who really knows what shape a monster’s eyes are, lol!
