Rich with fiber and protein, this good-for-your-tummy, healthy chocolate smoothie will keep you going till lunch on any busy day. You could also use it to fill the gap between lunch and a late dinner. I never cease to be amazed just how lastingly filling a smoothie can be when you include the right ingredients.
The recipe is from Sarah at MaisonCupcake and you’ll find the ingredients list at the end of the post. I had to laugh at Sarah’s comment at the start here …
To save the smoothie being too Kermit-like I have found the addition of frozen banana and a few prunes gives a natural sweetness masking the vegetable flavour. The cocoa powder isn’t absolutely essential but since I often make smoothies on alternate mornings, the brown cocoa disguises the discolouration that might naturally occur through oxidisation overnight. So when you wake up tomorrow, your chilled smoothie still looks as good as you feel.
