Transitioning to a gluten-free lifestyle can be difficult. Kristin at IowaGirlEats knows exactly how so, since she had to change her diet due to a diagnosis of Celiac Disease. On her website she has many gluten-free recipes you may find helpful, plus a meal-plan e-book for beginners. (Plus many recipe from before her Celiac Disease diagnosis day.)
But we’re talking smoothies here, so where is that smoothie recipe? You’ll find it, as usual, at the end of the post. Meanwhile, what is a girl with a gluten intolerance to do? Kristin says …
Skip the muffin and drink a healthy, gluten-free Blueberry Muffin Smoothie that tastes like one instead!

Recipe: Gluten-Free Blueberry Muffin Smoothie
Serves 1
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Milk, your choice
- 4 – 6oz vanilla Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Blueberries, frozen
- 1/2 frozen Banana (or a whole banana if you like your smoothies sweeter)
- 1/4 cup raw, uncooked certified Gluten-Free Oats
- 1/4 teaspoon Lemon zest
- 1/2 cup Ice cubes
Blend until smoothie.
I’m telling you – thick, not-too-sweet, and bursting with blueberry muffin flavor. Love this combo! Enjoy!
