Many times our smoothie recipes are for one, so it’s good to offer a delicious recipe the whole family will enjoy.
Have you noticed that when kids get to a certain age they just love all things gross? I can just imagine a little guy wanting to stick the straw into a smoothie monster’s eye, or its nose, or something else gross that only he can think up, lol! (No, I’m not being sexist; I’m mother to both sexes and it’s my boys who do this sort of thing, not the girls, lol!)
We did a kid-friendly green monster smoothie recently
Today we have an ‘ordinary’ blueberry smoothie which will appeal to kids and adults alike. Thought it was fun to decorate it with a happy face :o) Use fruit to make a face, or fruit loops – and see just how long it takes a kid to stick his straw in the fruit loop eye or up its ‘nose’, lol! (You could add a drizzle of maple syrup to give it some ‘hair’.)
The recipe is from TheSlowRoastedItalian who says …
… delicious enough for breakfast, snack or dessert. We all loved it and Munchkin devoured hers.
I really do enjoy making things that are healthier for my family. This is a perfect example of something that I felt really good about serving for dessert. Packed with antioxidants and immune system boosters and only 3 grams of fat per serving, this is a very healthy milk shake!
