I’ve been hearing a lot about the many health benefits of fermented products like kefir, so was really interested to learn you can add it to my other favorite health drink … yes, you’ve got it! Healthy Green smoothies! Yum!
I have to admit I haven’t tried this recipe yet as I don’t have any kefir, but I’ve discovered I can buy it at my local supermarket and I don’t have to start making it from scratch. So guess where I’m heading in the morning …

Recipe: Digestion Strengthening Kefir Green Smoothie
Serves 1
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups coconut water Kefir (or other Water Kefir)
- 1 cup Greens (can use pea shoots, spinach, sweet potato leaves, kale, frozen peas, lettuce or a mix of them all) OR if you run out of fresh greens, add 2 scoops of Amazing Green Powder for an extra healthy green boost.
- 1-2 Celery sticks
- 1 medium Carrot
- 1 mini Cucumber
- ¼ cup fresh Herbs (Oregano, mint or basil work well or a combination)
Optional Extras:
- Fermented fruit from your second ferment Water Kefir flavours
- Mango, watermelon, papaya, pear, apple, berries, pomello, carrot or a combination
- 1 tbs powdered greens (organic is preferable)
- Chia or hemp seeds
- Handful of ice cubes
Blend until smooth and enjoy.
