Most people don’t understand how low-carbohydrate diets work and what an amazing effect they can have in reducing weight.
Here you can discover a healthy green smoothie to keep you on the right low-carb/high healthy fats track. Its also packed with protein. Good if you’re following a “keto” plan.
There are also enough fruits and vegetables to satisfy your daily nutrient needs: Lemon, Baby Spinach and Avocado, each bringing powerful health benefits.
As the article author, Leanne, says about her recipe ...
It can pack about 1/3 of your daily fat requirements, if that’s what you’re into. It’s low in carbs, low in sugar with a moderate amount of protein. Perfecto!
If you’re rockin’ the ketosis* like me, add 1-2 tablespoons of MCT oil, 1-2 tablespoons of Manitoba Harvest Hemp Oil or flavored fish oil, and/or a handful of raw macadamia nuts or sunflower seeds to this smoothie to make it a Fat Bomb!
*Note: According to Wikipedia, the ketogenic (“keto”) diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.

½ medium-sized Avocado (30g)
1 cup (50g) raw baby Spinach

Add ingredients to the jug of your high-powered blender in the order they’re listed in the recipe.
Blend on high for 1-2 minutes, until smooth.
Serve immediately.
Almond milk is a popular choice for vegans and the ‘health conscious’ as it gives the impression of milk without the fat.
However, while almonds are a good source of protein, almond milk is not a good source of protein, unless you buy fortified almond milk. Select your product carefully as some contain carrageenan which has a bad reputation. While carrageenan is a natural product used to thicken a wide range of foods products, it has no nutritional value and may even be dangerous, causing digestive issues for some people: inflammation, gut irritation, ulcerative colitis and worse.
