This smoothie recipe suggests using fresh green almonds, but if you do not have any then substitute ‘normal’ almonds.

I’d never heard of green almonds before and was interested to read about it. They are the whole fruit, husk and all, of an immature almond, before it hardens and forms the shell and nut as we know it. Nutritional value is the same as ’normal’ almonds.

Cucumbers are an excellent source of vitamin K and molybdenum. They are also a very good source of the pantothenic acid … a good source of copper, potassium, manganese, vitamin C, phosphorus, magnesium, biotin and vitamin B1. They also contain the important nail health-promoting mineral silica.

Persian cucumbers are 4-6 inches long compared to an English cucumber which is about a foot in length.  Nutritional values are similar.
