We will use almond milk in this recipe. Make it fresh, chill it, and you’ll always have some to hand to make delicious smoothies. This means that this is not a spur-of-the-moment recipe; you’ll have to plan if you want to make it and don’t have any on hand, as you have to soak the almonds and then you’ll want to chill the milk. That said, you can always throw in a few ice cubes if you haven’t had time to chill your milk.
The recipe is from Emma at CoconutAndBerries and you’ll find the details at the end of the post. Emma says she didn’t have …
… any instant coffee at home and didn’t want to brew a pot only to use a small amount, then it occurred to me that I could throw whole coffee beans into my blender! It worked a treat and my blender blitzed them up completely. I’m sure my homemade almond milk made it all the more delicious too.
Tip: If you are concerned you will not get through your fresh almond milk quickly enough and it will spoil, freeze it as ice cubes. Once frozen you can measure out whatever quantity you require for a recipe.
