I’ve said before that I’ve gone down two dress sizes as a result of using meal-replacement green smoothies once or twice a day as part of a healthy eating plan. Smoothies are a great way to get the nutrients my body needs. I’ve found them filling and tasty and I highly recommend them to you.
This smoothie will fill you up nicely and set you on your way for the day. We’ve added a little flax seed to the basic recipe for some extra nutrients and although we haven’t put any greens in it, throwing in a little mild-flavored mâche won’t affect the flavor but will give you a few more life-giving nutrients.
The original recipe comes from Becca at AmuseYourBouche who says …
It’s the oats and spices that take this from a plain old fruit smoothie to an apple crumble smoothie. It’s amazing what a few pinches of cinnamon and nutmeg can do – even with no added sugar, they make the smoothie taste deceptively sweet, just like my favourite apple crumble. Those sneaky spices.
