I often find I want to throw too many things into a smoothie. I’ve learned from my mistakes and now allow one fruit to shine at a time and don’t drown it with too many additions. And that’s what happens here in Becca’s super healthy apple crumble smoothie. The sweet spices enhance the star rather than smother it. See the recipe at the end of the post.
Becca blogs at AmuseYourBouche and says …
It’s the oats and spices that take this from a plain old fruit smoothie to an apple crumble smoothie. It’s amazing what a few pinches of cinnamon and nutmeg can do – even with no added sugar, they make the smoothie taste deceptively sweet, just like my favourite apple crumble. Those sneaky spices.

Recipe: Apple Crumble Smoothie
Serves 1; 304 cals
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp Oats
- 1 red Apple, cored and cut into a few chunks
- 1 Banana, peeled
- ¼ tsp ground Cinnamon

- 150ml (~1/2 cup) Milk
Blend until smooth and enjoy.
If the mix has become too warm during blending, either put in the refrigerator to cool before drinking or add a few ice cubes.
