The end of winter is in sight! Energy levels are often low at this time of year, so we’ve got an energy-boosting smoothie today.
This tasty smoothie recipe is from Alissa at ConnoisseurusVeg and the details are at the end of the post as usual.
It’s a filling, energy-boosting recipe containing peanut butter and maca.
Maca is related to the radish and among it’s other benefits it is said to boost energy levels.
Alissa reckons it tastes like butterscotch. She says …
Maca is one of those healthy foods that I’m hooked on for taste alone. I’ve said before that I don’t really believe in superfoods, at least as most people understand them, but I do believe in healthy foods. I’m glad this stuff is healthy, because it’s delicious. It has a slightly sweet, malty, butterscotchy flavor, hence the title of the post. It goes awesome with banana and peanut butter, so I went and thew both of those things in here. This is one of those smoothies that tastes like a milkshake to me, but is, quite amazingly, void of dairy or refined sugar.
