Are you longing for some apple pie but trying to avoid it because you have another couple of pounds you want to lose before you feel comfortable in your party dress? Then treat yourself to this delicious skinny apple pie smoothie from Amy at AmysHealthyBaking.
I’m not saying it’ll make you lose any more weight, but it will help satisfy the apple pie longings without adding any inches to the hips.
Amy buys small pots of unsweetened applesauce and uses one in this recipe. She says they are really useful …
… because I can never finish off one of the larger jars before the applesauce starts to mold. One of these snack cups is almost ½ cup—just about a teaspoon or two shy—and that’s good enough for me. Don’t open another one just for that last little bit!
To keep the recipe simple, I just used ground cinnamon. If you love the spice as much as I do, feel free to use more! I sometimes go crazy and double it, but I love cinnamon as much as chocolate. And that’s a whole lot. You could also add in a shake or two of nutmeg, if you’re feeling adventurous!
However, if you have no applesauce, don’t be afraid to use a whole fresh apple!
