health_benefits_of_banana.jpgYou’ll have noticed that the ubiquitous banana features in many green smoothie recipes. Bananas are great for providing the perfect creaminess, texture and natural sweetness.

But not everyone considers a banana healthy… Some feel that bananas are too fattening, have too much sugar (glycemic index), or that its better to avoid “hybrid” fruit.

So I was kinda fascinated by what Tracy Russell of Incredible Smoothies had to say in defence of the banana as healthy:
