I just ran across this cool recipe from Shell Harris (SmoothieWeb). She shares a delicious & nutritious honey banana smoothie idea with nutmeg to add a little spice. Shell provides clear instructions on making it up, so you can be sure of success at home. Low in cholesterol, its high in calcium, phosphorus, and riboflavin.

Check out the recipe below and let me know what you think…

As Shell says…

Banana goes very well with honey, as most fruits do, but banana and nutmeg also blend very well. Consider making a boring banana smoothie something to talk about and spice it up with nutmeg and indulge your sweet tooth with a bit o’ honey. Not exactly a diet smoothie, but they don’t all have to be, right? On the other hand, it only contains 344 calories.

Shell Harris’s Recipe for Honey Banana Smoothie with Nutmeg Spice

1 ripe banana, diced (frozen for a thicker smoothie)
6 ounces low-fat natural vanilla yogurt
1-2 teaspoons honey (or to your taste)
8 ounces cold milk (low fat or soy may be used)
A dash of Nutmeg (1/8 teaspoon)
couple of ice cube, if needed for a thicker consistency
