I didn’t like coffee until I was into my twenties – and even then, I’m not sure ‘like’ was correct until into my 30s, lol! Up till then I only drank milk or water. So I didn’t go to Starbucks (or any other coffee shops, for that matter) and so I missed out on their frappuccinos. Aaah, poor me, lol!
By the time I got around to trying a mocha frappuccino I didn’t take sugar in my coffee – and so didn’t like it. It’s funny … I love coffee-flavored cake, ice cream, chocolate, in fact coffee-flavored anything … just don’t put it in my cup! Yuck, lol!
Erin at WellPlated tells us she was regularly late for class her senior year at high school. Why? Because she and her girlfriends met at Starbucks for their weekly ‘whipped-cream-topped Frappuccinos’. They did have serious discussion, too, on the topic of the week … yes, you’ve guessed it, boys, lol! And while I didn’t drink coffee, I did indulge in that topic with my girlfriends too, lol
Ah well, back to the serious business of delicious smoothies.
While I may not like sweetened coffee, this mocha smoothie passes muster! … Oh my! Is that another of my grandmother’s phrases? So much of what you learn when you are young stays with you. It means that something is judged acceptable.
I hope you’ll try this tasty smoothie from Erin. Take it straight or indulge in the creamy toppings if you wish. Either way it’s not only good but healthy, too.
As a 17-year-old Erin didn’t think about what she ate and drank. As an adult it’s different. She says …

The results of my coffee Frappuccino experiment: success! This healthy copycat recipe is as richly chocolaty and refreshing as the original but made of wholesome ingredients, so you can feel great drinking it too …
